CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
Themes
The main technical objective of the Summer School is to cover the motivation driving research
in multi-robot systems, existing projects and results, and open research problems in
key areas of multi-robot systems. Underlying research themes include
(1) sensing/perception and estimation, (2) task allocation and role assignment,
(3) control, (4) planning and decision making, and (5) real-world applications.
The first four themes are common topics in multi-robot systems that will each address issues
of coordination and cooperation, learning, scalability in the number of robots, communication, and (possibly) human-robot teaming.
The fifth theme is intended to educate roboticists in selected application topics that inform and drive multi-robot systems research.
The Summer School comprises lectures and practical sessions covering the above five themes and
visits to robotics centers and labs in various academic and research institutions in Singapore.

Flights to Singapore
Singapore
Changi Airport is one of the busiest and best connected in the world, handling over 100 airlines flying to some 300 cities. The award-winning airport itself is jam-packed with activities and amenities, making it a world-class attraction in its own right.
Singapore Changi Airport is well connected with all major airports in Asia, Europe, and North America. From major European cities, there are usually non-stop flights to Singapore. From major US cities, it usually takes one stop, e.g., in Hongkong, Incheon, Tokyo, etc..
Arrival in Singapore
Singapore Changi Airport is normally very efficient. It takes 30 to 45 minutes to exit the airport from the moment that the plane lands.
From the airport, it is recommended that you take a taxi to your accommodation.
The MRT (subways) connects to airport terminals, but it may not be convenient if you have heavy luggage. See below for more information on local transportation.
Local Transportation
Taxis are convenient and affordable in Singapore. You can flag one down on most roads, but not in the downtown area. Taxi stands are available outside most major shopping malls, public buildings, MRT stations, etc.. In the downtown area, you have to wait for taxis at the taxi stands. Available taxis usually show a green light on the roof of the taxi. Unavailable/booked taxis show a red light, or are not lighted up.
You may also get a taxi by calling 6-DIAL CAB (63425222), which automatically dials several taxi companies until one responds.
All taxis are metered. Taxi rates vary a little, depending on the vehicle types and taxi companies, but not substantially. Singapore taxi drivers are, generally speaking, honest, but do insist that they turn on the meter if they don't.

here.
Singapore has an extensive public transportation system, consisting of MRT (subways) and buses. During the rush hours, MRT is often the most efficient means of traveling.

Google Maps provide very good route recommendations on taxi, bus, and MRT rides.
