Synopsis Big data and cloud computing are emerging as two key drivers of the technology landscape in the digital economy. Big data analytics allows valuable information and insights to be extracted and monetized. The storing, processing and analysis of massive volumes of data is key for business operations. This course focuses on how cloud computing and its infrastructure leverage big data processing by providing scalable, fault-tolerant and availability to big data systems that is too large to be perform using on-premise systems. Topics include (i) basic concepts and models in big data and cloud computing and how these two technologies form and integrated enterprise solution (ii) software development and the important of cloud computing as a base technology for developing and hosting modern/next generation cloud computing services with advanced big data analytics and AI capabilities (iii) big data solution and patterns introduce key concepts for developing a big data cloud solution (iv) trends and challenges discuss complexity of software development and scaling the cloud for distributed big data processing.
