Ms Catherine Nathan
Ms Catherine Nathan graduated from the then Department of Information Systems and Computer Science (DISCS) at National University of Singapore in 1995.
After graduation, she joined POSBank, where she spearheaded the POSBNet project, which was the largest internet banking portal at that time.
Catherine remained in the e-payments and eCommerce field for over 10 years, and her projects spanned cities like Taipei, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Kuala Lumpur. She was Vice President (eNETS) at the Network for Electronic Transfers (Singapore), the largest electronic payment provider in Singapore when she left the company.
During her tenure with eNETS, the company bucked the trend of the dot-com bubble burst in the late 1990s, with transaction processing through the eNETS gateway doubling year-on-year for a number of years. For instance, in 2005, eNETS processed 2.5 million online payments for over 1000 large (including government agencies, airlines, movie operators) and small companies.
Catherine recently joined Fullerton Financial Holdings in Dubai, with a mission to set up the company’s banking channels in the Gulf region, which is poised to generate the next wave of global economic transformation. Fullerton Financial Holdings is a fully-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s Temasek Holdings.
Besides her degree from NUS, Catherine holds an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business, where she graduated with Honours and was elected into the business honour society Beta Gamma Sigma, a privilege reserved for the top 20 percent of graduates from each year.
