In September this year, the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) School of Computing and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy will jointly launch the NUS Global CEO Programme.  Aimed at entrepreneurs in Asia, the programme focuses on digital transformation and a sustainable future, based in Singapore with a global perspective.  The course spans two-and-a-half years.

The NUS Global CEO Programme, launched collaboratively by the two NUS schools, represents an innovative approach to business education for entrepreneurs.  It addresses the current era of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, the rapid advancement of intelligent technology, and the intertwined challenges of technological change and great power competition.

Finding certainty amid uncertainty and standing firm amidst technological waves are key concerns for entrepreneurs.

Professor Tan Kian Lee, Dean of the School of Computing, stated, “The School of Computing is committed to driving continuous technological transformation and making a lasting impact on business and society.  In the midst of the vast technological revolution, entrepreneurs need to understand technology trends and acquire technology skills.  We hope that entrepreneurs will leverage leading academic research in Fintech, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation to enhance business efficiency and drive innovative change.”

He added, “Leaders of the world’s leading companies, such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta Chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, are all graduates of computer science.  This underscores the importance of entrepreneurs coming to the School of Computing to study during this round of technological revolution.”

Dean Danny Quah of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy noted, “As globally respected leaders in the business world face unprecedented challenges brought by geopolitical shifts, we help entrepreneurs understand complex international situations while guiding them on how to use collective wisdom to create a more assured and sustainable future amidst uncertainty.”

In the QS World University Rankings for 2025 released this June, NUS ranked eighth globally, maintaining its position in the top ten for two consecutive years and being the top university in Asia for seven years running, reflecting NUS’s leading position in higher education in Asia.
