MComp in AI: Admission Requirements
Important: The University has not engaged any external agencies to undertake graduate student recruitment on its behalf. Applicants interested in our graduate programmes are advised to apply directly to the University and not through any agents. Applicants who apply through agents will not have any added advantage in gaining admission and the University reserves the right to reject such applications without giving reasons.
Admission Criteria
This programme is designed for students with solid foundation in computing and mathematics, who wish to advance their skills in AI for careers in industry or research. It may be taken full-time or part-time. Most level 5000 courses are conducted in the evenings.
Applicants should possess:
- A good honours degree in computing; or
- A good honours degree in a related discipline with 2 years IT industry experience; or
- A good bachelor’s degree in computing with 2 years IT industry experience; or
- A good bachelor’s or honours degree in business related discipline with 2 years IT industry experience.
The above requirements are the minimum admission requirements. Admission is on a competitive basis and preference will be given to applicants with strong mathematical training and related project or work experience.
Test Scores
Applicants are to submit GRE/ GMAT and TOEFL/ IELTS test scores as evidence demonstrating their readiness for graduate study. Applicants who graduated from Universities where English is not the main medium of instruction must submit TOEFL or IELTS test scores as proof of English proficiency.
Applicants who have graduated from Indian universities may submit GATE scores instead.
Applicants should have a minimum GRE score of 320 (verbal and quantitative) and 3.5 (analytical), or a GMAT score of 650 and above. The minimum TOEFL score for Internet Based Test (IBT) is 90; or IELTS score of 6.0. The validity of GRE/ GMAT and TOEFL/ IELTS scores are 5 years and 2 years respectively.
Applicants may be required to sit for other tests as prescribed by the School.
