Q9 | What are the teacher's strengths? |
1. | -engaging |
2. | Funny and able to teach complex concepts with ease. |
3. | - |
4. | His strengths lies in the fact that he is able to explain concepts clearly during lectures, while not compromising the understanding of the students during the lecture. Also, he insists on clarifying the students' doubts during the lecture if the students do not understand any part of the lecture. The examples that were used to illustrate the concepts were also pretty good, and it helped in understanding certain abstract concepts which is not very easy to comprehend at first. Finally, one good point about him is that he would also show some motivational videos during the lecture to allow us to have a good break in between. |
5. | He cares a lot about his students, even taking the effort to remember each and every student's name. Teaches more than just on academic stuff, also dispenses useful advice on other things such as how to succeed in life. Very fast in replying to any questions posted to him. |
6. | Pushes limit of student's learning |
7. | One Word: Awesome. |

17. | Very approachable, friendly, and humourous |
18. | Lectures are always interesting. Teacher always willing to slow down for the students. |
19. | PROF SO SHUAI!!! But honestly though, Prof, you are the most awesome lecturer/teacher I've had ever =D |
20. | He is so good, friendly and passion. Unlike other lecturers, Prof. Leong is very close to his students. He always takes care of his students and gives the best to his students. So far, he is the best professor in NUS I have seen. He has successfully transferred the notion of programming in Scheme at least to me. |
21. | - Passionate for teaching, have effective teaching method - guide on nature of matters. - inspire students |
22. | Energetic, enthusiastic. |
23. | Humorous, makes the subject very interesting, sets very high standards of education. Very practical. |

36. | too handsome |
Q10 | What improvements would you suggest to the teacher? |
1. | Keep doing what he's doing. |
2. | - |
3. | I think he should really slow down a little bit, and he should cut down on the amount of time being spent on adminstrative matters at the start of the lecture, so that he could spend more time on the content that is to be covered during the lecture. |
4. | Nothing much. Excellent teacher. |
5. | Pace of lectures can be slower |
6. | Nothing. Just stay awesome. |
7. | Maybe more hands-on demonstration rather than just verbally explaining code. May be easier for students to follow if the code is typed and explained at the same time. |
8. | nil |
9. | - |
10. | Be less evil. |
11. | nil |
12. | Needs to listen and self-indulge less. And life is really not always that complicated. To infuse lessons with philosophies of life is not a bad thing, but one can do it with more humility. It's not selling common sense really, because these "common sensical" stuff that can be derived at logically can go either ways. And no, majority of the people / singaporeans do not lack "common sense" / are not "stupid" / "cannot think for themselves". Just cause one think one knows something "common sensical" that another doesn't, has little telling on the character or wisdom of one over the other. And if shove comes to push, where are the statistics/evidences for making these rather obnoxious statements? Or is it simply a tendency to think oneself greater than others, in character and in intelligence? |
13. | -nil |
14. | nil |
15. | Not be so elitist |
16. | More hours of lecture a week!!!! |
17. | DON'T QUIT SCHEME NEXT YEAR!!! IT'LL BE THE DOWNFALL OF SCHEMERS FACULTY-WIDE!!! |

19. | speakings skills. |
20. | Teach more modules! |
21. | I will suggest Prof. Ben to slow his pace of teaching just a little. |
22. | maybe should go through lecture notes in a slower manner and let student to digest for a while |
23. | N.A. |
24. | no |
25. | Slow down some time in the lecture, give students more time to read code and think! |
26. | Keep up! :) |
27. | Better time management |
28. | I think it may be better if he can give more attraction to those students who are not brilliant but work very hard in the module. |
29. | He's already excellent! |
30. | Maybe slow the speaking speed. |
31. | Reduce some learning stuff. |
32. | be more humble |

1. | Funny and able to teach complex concepts with ease. |
2. | - |
3. | Professor Ben makes it a point to cover key concepts in the lecture prior to the recitation, and also, cover some concepts not covered in the lecture. Similar to what he does during lectures, he would also use some simple yet important examples to illustrate certain concepts, and explains again to the students if they do not understand them. He is also very approachable for consultation after the recitation. |

1. | Just awesome... |
2. | He is a caring teacher who makes sure that no students are left behind. Besides that, he sent a personal and heartfelt to us after our midterm quiz and the practical examination, to give us his personal assessment of our progress in the class, as well as giving us more encouragement and motivation to do even better and strive to even higher heights. As such, I was even more motivated to do well in this module. |
3. | 1) Creative use of game system to engage students and promote students' consistency in subject 2) Engaging teaching style, helping the weaker students and challenging the stronger ones |

13. | He is awesome, great, passion and very creative during the teaching process. He is the best Professor I have ever had in this semester. I'm lucky to be the part of CS1101S, the place where I get many new things and concepts in programming especially Scheme. |
