Name: Ho Kok Wei Daniel
Running for: President
I am Daniel Ho, Year 2 Student doing CM major. I am the current outgoing 11th MC Welfare Director.
For the past AY, I have worked on multiple activities to provide SoCians with a better schooling experience, such as Exam Welfare Pack and Refreshment Area during critical pre exams period to let you SoCians know that Comp Club is here with you. Locker issues were worked upon, making sure that those who require a locker have it and making sure that everyone is happy with their assigned lockers. Outward looking wise, I have hosted the annual Comp Club flagship event, Cyber Gaming Festival 2009. The event was a success and has definitely put SoC and Comp Club in the limelight to Sponsoring companies and the public as a whole.
This time round I wish to take on more responsibility by taking on the position of president. I wish to furthur build on the foundations layered upon in the 11th MC and bring the club's image to greater heights. Internally, more welfare and support will be given to the students. Externally, we will organise larger scale of events to bring out the name of Comp Club and SoC.
In addition to what I wish to achieve, I wish to lead my team of fresh leaders with bright new ideas into the club. Cultivating and lighting the passion towards the club will be my aim during my term of leadership.
Please do lend me and my team your support for the coming term ahead. Thank you.
Name: Steve Teo Wai Ming

Name: Muhammad Faizal Bin Hashim
Running for: Internal Vice-President
What I intend to do is share my experience working with the 11th MC with the 12th MC. As IVP I think I would be in a good position to guide the new directors under my wing and make this new MC a success.
Name: Patrick Tan Jun Zhong
Running for: Honorary General Secretary
Ever since stepping into this campus a few weeks ago, I have been frankly impressed by the way the current MC has made it a point to reach out to the rest of the students in SoC. Being in two faculties gives me a point of comparison between the way the Science and Computing Student Reps offer help to their fellow schoolmates. Among the many pervasive changes within Computing would be the increase of study areas, organising of mock practical exams, and the recent (albeit still unresolved) request to DBS to install an ATM onsite. I feel that all these efforts have been made with the benefit of the students in mind.
However, I believe that there are suggestions that lie within the hearts of many students, either too shy to voice them, or find it too much trouble to do so. I would like to provide such a venue for feedback and suggestion, so that these ideas do not go wasted.
As a nominee for the Hon. Gen. Secretary, I feel that the decisions made and the events held should be more widely disseminated to the rest of Computing. I know it's often an assumption that Computing students would have laptops with them, but it's not always the case. Probably one of the first things I would implement as HGS would be the installation of more notice boards around the common SoC areas, even outside the two common LTs (19 and 15) if permission is granted. That way, people who do not check their emails often would still be informed about the latest developments in SoC.
Finally, I would like to assure you that I would wholeheartedly work towards the benefit and improvement of the SoC Community.
Let me be your voice in the Committee! Thank you.
Name: Cheng Lulu
Running for: Welfare Director
I want to be a part of NUS student's computing club because I want to contribute back to the club of what it have provided me the past 1 year. I would also want to learn leadership skills through this experience too.
Name: Yeo Chun Wen Gareth Gabriel
Running for: Communications and Media Director
It happens to be a nice coincidence that the post I am running for reflects my major =). I feel that it is my responsibility to contribute, in any way needed, to the student population at SOC as well as the club that has served us so diligently in the past. I may not be able to do a perfect job, but my word is that I’ll try my best. There will be flaws and mistakes in the system, but we will work together to correct them. I am not the perfect candidate but I am willing to step up to the plate. I am a relationship centred worker and tasks mean nothing to me if good relations are not established or maintained. I am looking forward with great anticipation to working with you and serving you in any way I can.
Name: Goh Khoon Hiang
Running for: Honorary Finance Secretary
I am Goh Khoon Hiang, currently a second year student majoring in Computer Science. I have been in the Club since my first year in SoC, serving as a sub-committee member in International Relations Committee and Publications Committee. I have been involved in the organization of events such as the International Friendship Day and SoC Week. It was a good experience learning to organize events for the students. This year, I am running for the position of Honorary Finance Secretary (previously known as Finance Director), together with my team, the Computing Action Party. As our party slogan says, "Working for Every SoC-ian!", I will continue to give my best to serve all SoC-ians and to improve your welfare. Should I get elected as the Honorary Finance Secretary, I will make sure the Club's funds are rightfully spent on the welfare of all SoC-ians. I am not a perfect person, but I am responsible, trustworthy and open-minded. Hence, I sincerely hope that you can vote for me and it will be my honour to serve you again.
Name: Randy Valentius Kamajaya
Running for: Academic Affairs Director
Skipping lectures? Sleeping during talks? Or doing something else in class? I believe that most of us would have done so throughout our years in SoC. But why is that so? The reason is simple, we get bored easily. However, fret not, as I have stepped up to the challenge of becoming your Academic Affairs Director. Together we will make a difference. By having interesting and interactive talks that engage not only our mind but also our soul, SoC community will be a better place for us all. So why wait? Come down and vote for me! :)

Name: Le Quoc Khanh
Running for: Non-Constitutional Post
After one year of studying, I have participated in some activities of Computing Club, such as SOC night, representing SOC in IFG.... but I haven't become a member of the computing club. Now I want to do and dedicate more for my faculty. Moreover, I want to get to know more computing students.
Name: Katie Tey
Running for: NUSSU Representative
Hello everyone.
I am Katie Tey, a first-year who is running for the NUSSU representative position. There are two reasons that motivated me to apply for this position. Firstly, I would like to contribute more to the Comp Club. This position provides me more opportunities to do so. Secondly, I would like to develop and enhance my entrepreneurial, interpersonal and organisational skills as well as my networking. Finally, in my opinion, I will do well in this position.
Most probably you are wondering now, why should you place your confidence in me. To begin with, back in my higher secondary school and pre-university education, I have experiences in holding diversified leadership and managerial positions, such as Head Girl, president of Chinese Language Society, vice president for Ranger (Girl Guide), secretary of English Language Society, secretary of Yellow House (Group A), executive committee of Form Six Society and assistant secretary of Prefectorial Board Disciplinary Unit. In addition, I always took part in public speaking, debate & essay-writing competitions. These had gained me good communicational skills, which is crucial for a NUSSU representative to fulfill his or her duty. Also, I am responsible and willing to dedicate my time for the position - these are necessary for every committee of any organisation. Last, but not least, I assure you, together with the other committees, I will dedicate myself to the position to bring benefit to the SoC community. Therefore, I earnestly request all of you, my fellow friends, to support me. Vote for me. Thank you.
Name: Indraperwira Suryantana
Running for: NUSSU Representative
To begin with, please disregard my long name and just call me Indra or Li Jie for simplicity. Although I just transferred from another faculty, I already feel at home in the School of Computing. I took part in the Prefectorial Board during my junior high school and the House Committee in my junior college because I believe in contributing to the community where I belong to. Therefore, I am now running for NUSSU Representative position hoping that I can help facilitate an active, two-way communication between the SOC students and the Union.
During my JC study, my friends and I set up a Piano Ensemble; organized a ticketed concert and a charity concert in the first running year. As a part-time music and language tutor in Jakarta, I have had experience working with children about 5 years old to adults who are older than me. Other non-academic experience includes being a professional wedding singer, a junior copywriter for a local radio broadcasting company. These experiences have altogether helped me garner my confidence as a practical planner, a cogent communicator and a philanthropic performer.
A past member of the SJI St. John’s Ambulance Brigade, the TJC First Aid Unit and currently the Red Cross Humanitarian Network NUS Chapter, the experience equips me not only with a spirit of servitude and impartiality, but also a sense of urgency; to keep a lookout for pressing issues and to promptly address them. Come what may, I must not be crippled into inaction.
I may not have anything much to offer other than my availability to serve in the MC, but I do believe that the experiences that I have gained thus far will add hues to the succeeding MC’s illustrious palette of talents. So, please cast your votes on me and let my actions do the talking.
Name: Zhang Meng
Running for: NUSSU representative and Marketing Director
Hello, dear SoCians. My name is Zhang Meng. I am a freshman, feeling proud to be a SoCian. Therefore, I really wish to make a contribution to our school. And I think to be a NUSSU representative is a good way to realize my dream. If I were the representative, I would make people in NUS know more about SOC. I am good at communicating and have friends from different countries, such as Indian and America, and I will ask more authority for SOC, such as organizing activities and more vacancies for SoCians in activities. Sincerely, I know little about SoCians' needs, because I am a freshman. However, I have the passion and the will to know more about you.
Hello, SoCians. My name is Zhang Meng. I am running for the Marketing Director. I organized many people to do some work many times in senior middle school since I had been the monitor in my class for three years. I am good at communicating with different people and I have friends from different countries such as Vietnamese, Indian, and American. Therefore, I think I have the abilities of organization and communication to be a good marketing director. I have no experience to be a marketing director, so I wish sincerely that experienced students will join the marketing department.
Trust me. Please vote for me. Definitely I will do what I should do to satisfy SoCians' needs! Thank you very much for reading my write-up.
Name: Xie Guangzhi
Running for: Non-Constitutional Post
Hello, my name is Xie Guangzhi, year 1 student here running for NON-CONSTITUITIONAL POSITION in NUS Computing Club. Being one of the thousands of students in SoC, I am very proud to serve every one of you and willing to take up the duty belonging to me. I believe I am the right one for you.
I am such a person that strong in mind and stick to things to get them done. I have met difficulties before, but I never gave up. I want to make things perfect and always try my best to do it. In my high school, I used to be a publication director of our school students' union. I also used to be a chief editor of our school magazine. Having done so much pragmatic work, I have gained a lot of experiences on how to serve the public, and how to design posters and find sponsors for the organization. Now I wish to work with those experiences to give you a better welfare in Computing Club, as well as gain the club a better reputation in NUS. I am very skillful in painting. I have won many prizes and have designed many of my own T-shirts. I hope my talent on arts and design would be used for you and Computing Club, especially to present all of you a better float on the next year rag day.
During the communication with our schoolmates, I feel it deep that the strength for a unit comes from sincerity, understanding and contributions. I believe that a student leader should have a firm belief with sacrifice. As a leader of student, one should not be selfish. What he seeks for is to work hard and give himself up to the service. This is exactly what I am.
My fellow schoolmates, if I'm elected, I will represent nobody but you; I will represent your wellbeing and interests; I will represent every need of yours. I would like to work with my heart and soul, for my love of SoC, for my loyalty to you. I earnestly hope to contribute my energy and hope to share the happiness and be concerned about the worries with everyone in SoC.
Never hesitate with the votes in your hands! Please VOTE ME! Thank you all for your trust!
Name: Liauw Jian Mei (Frank)

I want to share my skills, interest and experiences in computing and leadership with the computing club and the faculty. I have held a significant number of leadership positions, such as President of the Student Council and Founding Chairperson of the Technopreneur Club, Vice-Chairperson of the Audio Visual Aid Club and most recently the founding President of my secondary school Alumni. My knowledge in computing is self taught till now, however, genuine passion and sheer determination have allowed me to shine in this field. Examples of my past works include the implementation of infocomm solutions for both schools and small businesses. I recognise that there is still much to be learnt, that's why computing was my primary choice and NUS my sole choice as a university. Having taken the first step towards my future infocomm career, I will like to take it one step further by running for the position of IT Director, as I believe it will being the most value for me, the club and the faculty.
