What I liked about the module:
1. Allows us to be creative without any limit.
2. NIL
3. Encourage me to web development
4. It is a module that allows creativity and cooperation between you and your partner
5. Independent study
6. Had the opportunity to learn new programming languages and skills related to software development.
7. Able to work based on own pacing.
8. Free, enjoyable, fun project
9. Being able to do what you want to do, and having several milestones defined for everyone was a good way of keeping track of progress.
10. Gave us room to learn and explore on our own.
11. Self-learning module, so there was a lot of freedom for me and my partner to undertake anything under the sun with regards to application development. Coming from a background without any software development concepts or skills, this really helped jumpstart the knowledge and skills acquisition I needed to bootstrap any simple idea we/I had to build a MVP of sorts, which I guess is really really helpful for the future from a startup perspective.
12. It was a good opportunity to explore other platforms such as the Google App Engine. The timetable for the module is also flexible, only during the first week are we required to attend the lecture.
13. -
14. Interesting and fun.
15. get to self learn website designing skills and design a website of our own in a pairs
16. We get to do our own project.
17. This module allowed students to explore any area of interest which they could freely pursue without restraint.
18. Able to learn on my own time such that there is no stress or constraints.
19. Independence.
20. An excellent module to learn about web programming own time own target during the summer break and at the same time able to clear 4MC.
21. nil
22. The self learning part of the module
23. It enhance our self learning.
24. I have more exposure to other programming language and developing framework. I have learnt a lot in this module.
25. Independent learning and no worries of CAP
26. It is hands on.
27. Allows me to develop an application without restrictions. It's a huge learning experience!
28. allows student to create what they want
29. Orbital was a wonderful programme that made me more interested in Computing
30. Know more stuff regarding web application
31. A lot of self learning involved.
32. Independent, you're able to choose to do what you like, learn lots of new things !
33. it was fun. I enjoyed the independent learning. It was also satisfying seeing what I learnt being put into practice in the form of a website.
34. This module is flexible as students can choose anything to be their project topic. Teaching stuff are friendly and willing to offer help upon request. :) Plus, this course has vastly improved my coding skill and truly make me loves coding. XD
35. I get to learn about how to create a webapp, which is useful and relevant
36. I like how it teaches new stuff
37. very useful. It is useful in real life
38. -
39. Independent learning is best learning
40. I can do what I truly want, and the benchmark is set to where I want it to be
41. gradeless and i can learn a lot of things independently along the way without worrying about the grade that i would be getting
42. It encourages students to learn topics outside curriculum at our own initiative.
43. Room for us to learn about software engineering independently
44. Getting to do something real
45. Able to make a real working prototype
46. I get to build what I want for modular credits
47. It is independent and self-learning that forces you to pick up skills by yourself.
48. This module is a self learning module. I learned a lot of things from this module, either academically or not (to be independent in my studies).
49. Freedom to pursue your knowledge and to do what you want
50. Provides students the opportunity to evaluate other students work and receive feedback
51. It allowed us to experience making something on our own.
52. Freedom to build what we want.
53. Good for independent learning, best thing is it can be done during summer holidays to clear credits
54. It encourages us to think and explore, one of the best module that i have taken in NUS. We are given the opportunity to explore on our on a relatively stressless environment, allowing us to really do what we are interested in.
55. Independent work
56. S/U and allow for exploration of computing and programming language
57. Mentor is very useful, guide me in the design process
58. Can do anything that we like. There is no limitation of interests and creativity.
59. Self-learning made us do a lot of research and we learnt a lot.
60. Allowed you to exercise creativity
61. s
62. Enhance students' self learning skill.
63. total freedom reachable help
64. This module provides me a experience to start my own relatively large project form year 1 end, so this will definitely increase my further experience.
65. encouage independent learning, teamwork and creativity
66. Each session is a close interaction with successful entrepreneurs, very interesting stories from them.
67. Give us the chance to to some hands-on work
68. Equipped me with knowledge of web design and development. Facilitated me to study other modules like IS2103
69. This module is a self-learning module in which I gained a lot of knowledge in web development and project management. I have also enhance my ability to search for information and solve problems.
70. The module gives an opportunity me to learn more advance materials in my summer holiday. The learning process is supposed to be fun and enriching. I really learn a lot of the module. The orbital project should continue to hold to benefit more students.

What I did not like about the module:
1. NIL
2. Time consuming
3. The grading criteria is redundant and too much time is required for this module
4. nil
5. NIL
6. Lack of clear objective as everyone developed their own application with different objectives and purposes. The milestones list only served as to do checklists.
7. Should have enforced meeting up between groups to share and facilitate development.
8. Maybe too much room given.
9. Nothing much to not like, since it was an independent study module. Some structure in curriculum would be nice (but there already is in a sense that it's an optional workshop weekly over the summer).
10. -
11. Could have covered more areas in the syllabus?
12. none
13. You set your own target.
14. There were far too many administrative aspects in this module in terms of peer evaluations and constant detailing of the progress of our work instead of focusing on the actual work.
15. None.
16. Nothing.
17. nil
18. nil
19. The programming part
20. Nil
21. Lack of face-to-face opportunities and meaningful human interactions with other group members and teaching facilitators
22. Some of the instructions given were not clear.
23. -
24. Nothing.
25. -
26. N.A -- just awesome!
27. nil
28. Nothing
29. nil
30. -
31. Peer evaluation is a bit burdensome, as some other groups provided sub-par work
32. the mission control should be held on weekends or after 7pm so that people who are working can still attend after work.
33. A lot of peer evaluations to be done.
34. a lot of missing gaps, parts of technology that we do not learn because we do not come across it (but such is the nature of a self-study module), often unclear of appropriate terms to search for (e.g. I know what I want to do, but I don't know what that step is called/what technology it uses/how to search for it), we miss out things we do not realise are important because it does not occur to us e.g. security, maybe can have list of important things/concepts to watch out for/research?, a webpage listing all orbital projects past and present would be nice
35. Little support from mentors due to lack of experience in this field
36. Many "admin" stuff
37. Nothing. It's an interesting module.
38. Slightly too much emphasis on the milestones which did not provide very useful or timely feedback sometimes
39. Perhaps better method of informing us what classes are held over the summer. Maybe in the form of a calendar of events.
40. -
41. The mentor assigned to my group does not really care about our project and gives rather vague "suggestions"
42. Time consuming, and there are period of uncertainties
43. Evaluation is a waste of time. I almost drop this module because I have to spent the entire days evaluating app that I will never use. I take this module to build something exciting, not to evaluate others. If the evaluation can benefit me, I would not mind. However the evaluation is not targeted audience, thus the feedback received is also useless. Piassa is not friendly.I couldn't communicate with my evaluator easily. I prefer a direct call or meeting for any kind of communication or presentation.
44. Need more guidelines to help students
45. A bit too open-ended, esp for beginners.
46. s
47. Too flexible. Assessment criteria is not so clear.
48. nope
49. more timely feedback from tutorsoπ
50. Some deadlines in the holiday would be quite painful for most students, but I think it is a must be if you want to have some outcomes at the end of the holiday.
