UIT2201: CS & the IT Revolution
Term Project (Spring 2003)

For the term project in UIT2201, you can choose to contribute to
- Intelligent Appliance Project --
be part of the team to build this system.
(esp. so for the students from SoC,
Computer Engg and any other students with prior programming background),
- Term Paper -- on a topic
related to CS & IT Revolution.
More specifically, your term project for UIT2201 consists
of doing one item from the list below:
- Software Design and Architecture (for Intelligent Door)
- Software Implementation (for Intelligent Door)
- Term Paper on Selected Topics
For some of these, there are technical pre-requisites and I will assign
based on matching skill sets and discussion with each of you.
In general, students from IT-related disciplines will be called upon to do the
SDA and SI projects, while students with no past IT background will do
Term Papers. However, this is NOT hard-and-fast and there can be variations.
An initial project assignment will be done by Thursday (20-Mar) and
finalized by 24-Mar. If students have serious objections to the assignments,
they must inform me before then.
System Design and Architecture: (7 people) -- ASAP
- SDA -- Software Architecture for Intelligent Door -- (Team: 2 persons)
- SDA -- GUI Design for Intelligent Door -- (Team: 3 persons)
- SDA -- DBMS for Intelligent Door -- (Team: 2 persons)
Software Implementation: (10 people) -- after SDA
- SI -- F1: Personal Schedule Function for ID -- (Team: 2 persons)
- SI -- F2: Security Function for ID -- (Team: 2 persons)
- SI -- F3: Other Function ?? for ID -- (Team: 2 persons)
- SI -- F4: Other Function ?? for ID -- (Team: 2 persons)
- SI -- F5: Other Function ?? for ID -- (Team: 2 persons)
Term Papers: (15 people) -- ASAP
