Arguments

index	An integer index between 0 and count-1.
attrname	A string containing the name of the attribute.
val	A variable, of one of a number of types, that will receive the value of the specified object.
maxlen	The maximum number of bytes that can be placed in val.

Remarks

The length indicated by maxlen should include one byte for a null terminator which is automatically added in the last byte of the buffer.
