  • While his style is ideal since it ensure students are always revising and keeping up with the course content due to his intense lectures and quizes everyweek, it can be quite demanding with the homework questions with other modules to juggle
  • establishing what the topic is about and its practical applications before going in-depth in the topic would be useful in helping students find motivation.

  • None
  • some questions in homework can be clearer as to what should be achieved
  • Summary slides at the end of each lecture would be good, and at the end of the curriculum, a summary of all the concepts would be ideal. Especially since the content has a lot of overlap, so being able to see a high level overview of everything we've learnt would make things so much easier to understand.
  • Nothing comes to mind
  • slow down when at the end of lecture, rushes through content at the end
  • Can teach us more interesting stuff but dont test them
  • no, he is perfect

  • Show more examples of how to apply new concepts before coming up with live practice questions. It is hard to adjust very quickly since there are many greek symbols representing all the time series models.

  • Nothing much, then overall course design, flow, pace is good

  • More practice questions.
  • This syllabus is not very well structured. I am unsure what is the main focus of this course, a lot of focus is put on formula derivation and a lot of focus is put on R code, which I find confusing.

  • No.

  • nil
  • Make the content more intuitive (too much emphasis on proofs and formula)
  • Nil
  • Don't call on students names to answer questions unless they are comfortable with it
  • nil
  • Please need cheatsheet and make the questions easier
  • More math background to introduce during teaching and practical application as the content is very theoretical
  • Challenging, but fulfilling
  • The course has a good coverage of the common techniques and models used in the finance industry.
  • Clearly explained concepts, very useful for students who want to take up career paths that involve time series modelling.
  • Interesting concepts on TSA
  • I liked the relevance and the real world applicability
  • NIL

  • How it uses real life data in the examples and it's hands-on from time to time. Moreover the prof is really good at explaining and really pushes you to learn
  • Give me more opportunity to attach the mach knowledge
  • Good exposure to a different domain of data science in the form of time series compared to other BT modules that seem to be repetitive
  • Interesting
  • Teaches some really interesting content
  • The content is relevant and i think its applicable to my life and work in the future
  • useful
  • Content is interesting
  • Learnt alot about time series
  • No project.
  • It was alright

  • Very interesting content that is applicable to the field -- the cross discipline of computing into finance -- and this perfectly takes advantage of our computing abilities to gain an edge in that field. Love it.
  • Clear explanation

  • Engaging teacher
  • Math
  • Finance & Math
  • interesting subject
  • Relevant to my intended future job prospects, a much needed recap for R especially since almost all my other mods are in Python.
  • very interesting
  • introduction to arima
  • very mathy which was interesting and prof explained the concepts really well so it not so black boxy
  • Interesting concepts and seems applicable to trading which I am interested in
  • The course is techical and the content is well taught and relevant, i do not need to go online looking for other resources for me to understand the subject
  • Need more practical use cases
  • N.A.
  • Too math heavy
  • NIL
  • NIL
  • Poor rigour, a mixture of application on code and mathematical derivation, makes it achieves neither
  • -
  • Nothing in particular but I wish that we can go into more math details, have more chance of exploring real life data, and even more real life applications in the lectures and tutorials.
  • So hard for me about the part of refer process.
  • NA

  • Abit too technical for my liking and it gets very complicated.
  • nothing
  • Difficulty
  • too hard... and it feels like I'm the only one struggling
  • Too much focus on the theorical part
  • Nothing, really manageable course.
  • Not very applicable in real world, very niche context, too much math
  • nil
  • nil maybe the no cheatsheet for exam part. Quite hard to keep all the content in the brain.
  • Too much content, no cheatsheet is the worst
  • maybe prof can go through the big picture before go into the theory so that we know whats going on, for example, i didnt know why are looking at ma ar and arma, and acf and pacf, then i realise it is to understand past data, to fit a proper model with right parameters and using this model to predict next timestep.
  • -
  • Too much math
  • Nil
  • Argumentative aspect
  • workload at later portion could have been lighter, lecture video for week of break does not work well
  • I will not likely be using R in my job, but at least it teaches me the concepts so I know what to do in whichever language I'm using in the workplace.
  • really difficult for students with little to no background. homework and tests are also very detached from what is taught in lecture. it'll be nice to focus more on application, and the kind of questions that will be asked and how to answer them
  • closed book
  • very mathy , i cant see myself using this in the future
  • nil
  • Maybe a little bit outdated and does not relate to the course title that much
