It was summer, and sunrise came early. An insect was resting on the outside of my window when I took these sunrise photos.

I decided to take a stroll at the nearby Danube River. I took the Metro train to the Donauinsel station, which is located on a bridge above the Danube River. On the side of the bridge was a pedestrian/cyclist path. I took some snapshots of a girl on roller-skates and a guy on a bicycle. I then walked down from the bridge strolled around the area.

I then went to the city area. I toured around the exterior of Stephansdom (St Stephen's Cathedral) -- one of Vienna’s most famous sights.

Next, I walked towards Karlsplatz and passed by Musikverein -- the famous concert hall renowned for its acoustics. It was undergoing some construction work to add an underground hall. During the summer season, there was no performance here by the Vienna Philharmonic. Instead, there were daily performances of Mozart concerts by players who worn the period costumes. These were aimed at tourists, so I was not really interested. I decided to take a guided tour inside.

I was lucky to attend a free concert here a few days later, performed by a young Chinese Orchestra troupe from China. I saw many Chinese in the audience, who dressed rather sloppily -- in shorts and sandals. It was quite warm and noisy throughout the performance -- you can hear babies crying and people talking. It was the extreme opposite of what you would expect to see in a concert in Europe. And the acoustics? Well, I did not find it good. Maybe it was because the Chinese Orchestra music did not suit the hall.

In the afternoon, I went to the Schönbrunn Zoo.
