I woke up at 11 am and missed my breakfast. It was due to the jet-lack. I could not sleep during the night and watched TV until 4 am. I had not eaten since my last mean on the airplane.
The hotel checkout time was 12 noon, but i was allowed to checkout at 1 pm. I had booked my flight (Delta 6241) from JFK to Boston at 18:30. So I had to spend the afternoon wandering at the Airport. ww There was a food court near the flight gate. I bought fried rice from a Chinese food stall.
My flight (DL6241) was scheduled to depart at 6:30 pm. Boarding was called about half an hour earlier, at 5:50 pm. It was a small plane, so a bus was used to ferry passengers to the plane. The take-off was delayed for about half an hour because of some standby power problem.
The flight from New York to Boston was along the coast. I could see the shore-line clearly from the plane. The flight took a little over an hour and landed smoothly on Boston Logan Airport, at Terminal C. I had made a reservation at Hilton hotel which is located adjacent and linked to Terminal E. I asked the ground staff for direction, and was told that there was no sheltered walkway from Terminal C to Terminal E. I was advised to take the airport terminal shuttle. Just when I exited the terminal and walked towards the shuttle bus-stop, I saw a Hilton shuttle van approaching. So I decided to take the shuttle van instead.
After check-in, I decided to explore the linked walkway from the Hilton Hotel to Terminal E. I found out that the walkway was actually quite a distance, and it took about 10 minutes. And it was quite cold, even though the walkway was sheltered all-round.
When I reached Terminal E, I tried to look for food but found that all the shops and restaurants were closed. Only a cafe and a snack kiosk at the ground level were still opened. I decided to buy a "ready-to-fly" sandwich pack and ate it at my hotel room.
I also took the airport terminal shuttle to go to the subway station (at the airport) to check out on buying the 7-day visitor public-transport pass ($22). But the station staff advised me to buy the Sunday-to-Saturday weekly combo pass ($12.50) instead, which he said was "the same thing". But it was not on sale that day (Saturday) so I got to wait till tomorrow (Sunday).
