I woke up early at 7 pm, and saw the sunshine outside the window. The city view was quite nice.
I had planned to check-out from Hilton Hotel today to change to Holiday Inn Express Boston. So I did not plan for any sightseeing activity today.
For the morning, I had planned to take the subway to the city to check out the Visitor Information Centre and to have breakfast. When I reached the subway station, I was told that the weekly combo pass was not on sale at that station. I took a second look at the "weekly combo pass" poster, and realised that it was sold only at certain stations (and at different timings). So I went through the list and decided to go to Kenmore Station to buy that pass.
After I had bought that pass, I exited from the station and saw only MacDonald's in the near vicinity. It was quite cold (< 10 deg C) and I was quite hungry, so I decided to eat at MacDonald's.
I then went to the Visitor Information Centre at Park Street station. I bought a museum combo pass from there.
When I returned to the Hilton hotel at the airport, it was near check-out time already. After check-out, I took the Hilton shuttle to go to Terminal C, and then used the courtesy phone to call for Holiday Inn Express's airport shuttle to fetch me there.
Holiday Inn Express Boston is located just outside the city area, next to an express way. But a subway station (Andrew station) is nearby (about half a km away). I was surprised to see that high-speed internet connection is available ($10 per day) in the rooms, since I did not see this mentioned when I made the booking on the website.
Upon check-in, I went to the supermarket next door. There were a few shops located together around a big car-park, including Toys-R-Us. I guess this is a typical shopping style in the U.S.
The sunset was around 5 pm. In the evening, I took the subway to Chinatown station and ate beef noodle soup ($6) at a Vietnamese restaurant.
