I walked around Ueno Park in the morning, and visited the Tokyo National Museum which was located within the park. There were several other museums in the park. The noteworthy ones are: Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Science Museum, National Museum of Western Art, Ueno-no-mori Art Museum. The Ueno Zoo was located here, too.

The Japanese were very enthusiastic about visiting the special exhibits which were held at various museums. When I reached the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum just a few minutes after it was opened, I saw many Japanese already queueing inside the building, waiting to enter the exhibition hall. Many more were still arriving from outside, some in tour groups ferried by coaches. The special exhibition held here was some treasure from Great Britain's museums.
