On a cooling day on 14 December 2008, the house felt a lot of "warmth" radiated from my colleagues from the NUS School of Computing. Despite my earlier no-gift request, the warmhearted guests conveniently ignored the friendly advice and turned up with both their presence and presents, not missing any chance to play their noble part in boosting the economy. Nonetheless, we are very appreciative of your kind thoughts, gifts, compliments, and well wishes.
In between food and some wine (thanks to Pamela, Wei Tsang, Zit Seng, Jerina and Theresa who brought the wine, food and cake - some of you missed the delicious mango cake specially made by Theresa), the guests mingled among themselves, with the occasional tour conducted by this proud house-owner who exploited the opportunity to unabashedly boast about all the hardwork - which the guests good-naturedly lapped up - he had put into "building" his home.
My mom, Jane, Cowen and I would like to thank all who were there, and those who were not able to make it (blame it on the timing when most people were overseas) but had sent in their well wishes. We had a wonderful time and we hope you had yours too.
