Previous: Consanguineous Mates
- If an individual has more than 2 mates, it is not possible
to draw them side-by-side.
- Solution:
Use alias to convert multiple matings into ``normal'' matings
- Suppose x mate y1, x mate y2, and x mate y3
- Introduce aliases x1, x2, and x3
- Replace x mate y1 by x1 mate y1,
x mate y2 by x2 mate y2, and
x mate y3 by x3 mate y3
- Replace links to x from parental unit of x
by links to x1, x2, and x3
- An example pedigree diagram derived from our example
bad diagram by (i) the multiple matings of ``6''
are converted into two single matings, one of which
is consanguineous with ``13'', and (ii) the consanguineous
mating is converted into a normal one.
