Conclusion
Overall, we have found the experience of building a chip to be rather
painful; we have never had so many sleepless nights in a row. On the
bright side, though, this was also a very enriching experiencein many
ways. We have learnt many interesting things about VLSI design,
teamwork and other cool stuff.
We conclude with the following statements:
- Our chip seems to work! =)
- The estimated propagation delay of the chip is about 30 ns.
- The maximum clock speed that the chip supports is approximately 10
MHz, though much will depend on the program ROM.
- Led is EVIL; DON'T use the compactor.
- Fact: It's going to take more time than you think.
