"HEY, what's in you? I am waiting for your answer. So what's your plan?" John, seeing that I am deep in thought, urges impatiently.
"Me? What plan? I don't know. I am not ready to get into another relationship right now. I'm worried it may happen for the third time." I express my sentiment.
"Always Remember: <** Never Say Never ***>", John encourages me.
Suddenly Pei Fu looks up and mutters, "Quite possible. According to the principle of mathematical induction, you have failed twice. If we take the first as the basis, now..."
"Cut! Get back to your program..." John interrupts.
"Correction, it is YOUR program," protests our dear friend.
"Ignore that eccentric creature. Tell me Garf, what's the worry? Don't worry, Be HAPPY!!..."
"Happiness is just an illusion, it is filled with sadness and confusion," our wise man quips again. I begin to feel that our mild guy has taken some influence from John.
"Another word out of your mouth and you are dead", John issues his ultimatum, and turns back to me, "C'mon Garf, this is life. Life is but a passing phase..."
"Life is an illusion", the man goes again but hastens to add just before John gets the chance to grasp him by his collar, "Okay, I'll get back to YOUR program."
"Tell me what to do, John? LIFE IS FULL OF TOUGH DECISIONS... To be or not to be is the question. Any advice?" I am at a loss.
"There's a solution to every problem and an idea to meet every need. Advice? Ummmm... why not try the People-Corner†? Lotuf people giving advice there", proposes John.
"Or read D*G's 'Thought of the day'†, heard there are some good stuff in there too", adds Pei Fu. This time John lets him off.
†'D*G' is 'Debbie*Gibson', the nick of one of the regular bbs contributors, a guy who changed his nick as often as the top female singer on the chart. He ran the "Thought of the day" column in the bbs that offered the readers with food for thought.
"You are outdated man", John makes a thumb-down sign, "Can't blame you. Anyway, what got "Thought of the day" to do with us? Nah, what else do you read besides textbooks? Do you read PointBlank's GK†? Huh? I suppose you never."
"What for? It won't help me get my B.Sc.† anyway. By the way, why did you say I am outdated? Isn't it D*G?" Pei Fu tries to evade John's question.
"Years ago, yes. Months ago, it was T*D. Now it is B*C," I offer the answer, trying to show that I am not just a mugger.
"D*G, T*D, B*C? What's next? errr... errr... E*T? Elizabeth Taylor!?", Pei Fu gives us an innocent expression.
